Vineyards Operated by 8 Chains North
As you will see, a big part of our business is vineyard management for our own vineyards, as well as custom management for others. In this section, you can track the changes to the vines from the dormant stage in winter through bud break, fruit set, verasion and harvest. I have the best office on Earth!

The 8 Chains Vineyard onsite at the winery (2)
This is our vineyard located at the winery in Waterford. It is about 2 acres of Sauvignon Blanc, planted in April of 2010. With Baccus' blessing we will have useable grapes by harvest of 2013. -
Furnace Mountain Vineyard (2)
This is a shot of our "Furnace Mountain Vineyard". You are looking at our Petit Verdot in 2008. The vineyard was planted in April of 2006 on my sister Avis' farm on the Potomac River north of Leesburg. We have 1.5 acres of Merlot, .5 acres of Malbec, .5 acres of Petit Verdot and 3/4 acre of Traminette. -
Creek's Edge Winery in Taylorstown (4)
4.5 acres planted on a 17% grade...thats extreme dirt farming! Planted in 2010, Creek's Edge plans to open in 2012. -
Tarara Vineyard (4)
Tarara is where Ben started his Virginia winery career in 1998 as the Winery Manager. However, he was much more interested in growing the grapes and making the wine. Tarara has 48 acres that began to be planted in 1985. -
Goose Creek Farm and Winery (1)
Located across the road from Tranquility Vineyard, Goose Creek is the home of Otium Cellars. Planted in 2007, this vineyard is home to several German varietals: Lemberger, Dornfelder and Grau Bergunder (a German clone of Pinot Gris). An exceptionally maintained and grown vineyard...qualities you will taste in the Otium wines. -
Tranquility Vineyard (7)
This is where the chi begins! Set in the rolling hills of the Piedmont, Tranquility Vineyard is 7 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, Tannat and Pinot Gris. I LOVE to work this vineyard!
